Adoption Event

What is Barktoberfest?

Barktoberfest is a rescue appreciation event to celebrate the partnership between Orange County Animal Services and the rescue community. Animal Services works with more than 50 rescue partners that aid in the recovery and adoption of many homeless animals. This event will have many of these rescued pets available for adoption. Shampooch, a dog wash fundraising event for local rescue groups, will also be taking place on Washington Street, just steps from Barktoberfest. Along with adoptable animals there will also be delicious food trucks, free microchipping*, vendors, raffles and more!

How was last year’s Barktoberfest?

The event put the “wow” in “bow wow!” Last year’s event drew in approximately 5,000 people and helped raise awareness for the rescue groups and vendors. Almost 50 animals were adopted!

When and where is Barktoberfest?

Barktoberfest is taking place this year on Saturday, September 28 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The event will be located in the south east grassy area of Lake Eola.
