Americans with Disabilities Act/Disability Advisory Board

Created in October 1995 by the Board of County Commissioners, The ADA Disability Advisory Board provides the opportunity for citizen input to the Board of County Commissioners regarding related life and living conditions affecting those in the disability community. Appointed members of the Disability Advisory Board reflect a representation of citizens affected by a variety of disabilities.

Citizens' Review Panel

The Citizens' Review Panel (CRP) is a 30-member volunteer board appointed by Orange County and the City of Orlando to coordinate the allocation and distribution of public human service funding dollars. CRP and the Heart of Florida United Way volunteers collaborate to review non-profit agency funding proposals, attend site visits, and recommend funding.

The Childhood Drowning Prevention Task Force

The Childhood Drowning Prevention Task Force was established in 2004 to increase water safety awareness in the Central Florida area. Orange County offers seminars and trainings, as well as informational materials that teach residents how to keep children safe in & around water.

Office & Commission on Aging

An Office on Aging located within the Health & Family Services Department provides staff support to the Commission on Aging. The Commission on Aging identifies Orange County resources dedicated to older adults and works with local, state and national partners to create an elder-friendly community.
Ryan White Title I Office

Ryan White

The Ryan White Title I CARE Act is a Federal Law passed by Congress in 1990 to provide Federal Government Funds to develop systems of care for persons living with HIV disease and their families. The Health & Family Services Department is responsible for the allocation and monitoring of Ryan White Title I Grant for Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Lake Counties. For this purpose, the Ryan White Title I Office was established to provide the administrative support and quality management for the grant.
