The Administration of the Orange County Corrections Department oversees all operations of the county jail system and community corrections. It is a department of Orange County Government that operates under elected representatives consisting of the Mayor and the Board of County Commissioners.
The department director is Chief of Corrections Michael A. Tidwell who reports to Mayor Richard T. Crotty and the Board of Commissioners through Orange County Public Safety Director Michael McCoy. The department is made up of three primary operational lines of authority:

Operational Services Divisions – includes Central Booking, Juvenile Assessment Center, all jail facilities, In-Custody Support Services

Administrative Services Divisions – Human Resources, Community Corrections, Inmate Programming

Professional Services Divisions – Internal Affairs, Research, Construction, Training, Technology Support, and Policy and Accreditation
Additionally, the Orange County Department of Health and Families operates the Corrections Health Services Division that provides services for the medical care of inmates.
