US House District 8 Candidates Forum

The League of Women Voters of Orange County and the Lake Formosa Neighborhood Association, with the support of the Orange County Supervisor of Elections,  hosted a televised forum for candidates for the U.S.House of Representatives, District 8. The event was recorded live at Howard Middle School on August 5th, 2008.  All of the questions asked of the candidates were submitted by the District 8 citizens.  TheEvent was moderated by Scott Harris from Central Florida News 13.

Orange County Public School Board Candidates Forum

The collaborative partnership of the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, League of Women voters and the Orange County Arts Education Center, hosted  a school board candidates' forum focused on county-wide issues. Topics of discussion  included: Academic standards, Chairperson elections, School start times and Arts cut-backs across the county.  This forum was recorded live at the Orlando Repertory Theatre and was moderated by WMFE's Pat Duggins.

The Hispanic Bar Association of Central Florida  hosted a series of  6 Central Florida  primary election debates. This first series of debates were held on August 12th & 13th at Barry University School of Law.

The Debates were Moderated by Professor Anthony Suarez, Esq from Barry University School of Law and Terry Fine, Ph.D, From the UCF, Lou Few Institute of Politics and Government.
