FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
The Orange County Leadership Institute Class of 2008 is proud to announce it has secured the donation of a $175,000 document imaging system to benefit Children’s Home Society of Florida.
“This gift goes way beyond our expectations,” said Kelly Goodwin, Leadership Institute class member. “We were hoping to get a couple donated computers for a children’s computer learning center, but Informa Software of Orlando stepped up and contributed a hardware/software package that will benefit Children’s Home Society statewide.”
The Leadership Institute’s charitable fundraising efforts also include a grand prize drawing for a 2009 Mercedes Benz C300. The drawing will take place Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Mercedes Benz of Orlando, 810 N. Orlando Avenue in Maitland.
The Mercedes raffle is the culmination of the 2008 Leadership Institute’s community service project fundraiser to benefit 5 local charitable organizations: Give Kids The World, Children’s Home Society, Coalition For The Homeless, Second Harvest Food Bank and Nathaniel’s Hope.
Orange County Clerk of Courts Lydia Gardner will draw the winning ticket for the new car accompanied by Orange County Tax Collector Earl K. Wood.
Raffle tickets for the Mercedes can be purchased online at www.LIBigGive08.com until noon, the day of the drawing. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the Mercedes of Orlando dealership on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the 3:00 p.m. drawing.
The Orange County Leadership Institute is a government leadership development program, designed to enhance leadership skills for Orange County management level employees from all county agencies. A hands-on community service project and a major fundraiser are important components of every Leadership Institute class.
