Office of Public Engagement and Citizen Advocacy

Established January 2011 by Mayor Teresa Jacobs

In January 2011 Mayor Teresa Jacobs proposed organizational changes for Orange County Government. These changes were based on expectations expressed by the citizens in favor of government efficiency, accountability, honesty and transparency.

As a consequence, Mayor Jacobs placed the electorate, the citizens we serve, at the top of the organizational chart. In addition, the Orange County Government structure was flattened through elimination of one Deputy County Administrator position and two Assistant County Administrator positions.

The Office of Public Engagement will make certain that Orange County citizens remain fully engaged in their local government.

Neighborhood Services

The Neighborhood Services Division strives to strengthen the Orange County neighborhoods by encouraging the development of neighborhood organizations and by providing citizens with the resources to revitalize, strengthen, and preserve the physical quality of their neighborhoods.
