Enabling Legislation: Ordinance No. 91-08, approved April 2, 1992, effective April 17, 1992; Resolution No. 91-M-24, effective June 18, 1991. On September 26, 1995, the Board adopted Ordinance 95-32, which repealed Ordinance 91-08 effective October 5, 1996 and on January 30, 1996, adopted Resolution 96-M-10, which repealed Resolution 91-M-24 effective January 30, 1996.
Membership: Seven members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners which may include representatives of the following member types: Orange County Sheriff's Office (preferably Agricultural Crimes Section), Orange County Health Department, Orlando Humane Society, veterinarian, attorney, and at large.

Term Length: 2 Years
Term Of Office: Initial appointments were made for the remainder of the calendar year 1991. Staggering of terms shall commence January 1, 1992, by appointing two members for a term of 1 year, two members appointed for a term of 2 years, and three members appointed for a term of 3 years. All subsequent appointments shall be for a term of 2 years.
Powers and Duties: To assist and advise the Board of County Commissioners in carrying out an effective and comprehensive Animal Services program.
