Dr. Frederick Humphries has served as president of the National Association for Equal Opportunity, Florida A&M University and Tennessee State University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Florida A&M University and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh.
During his nearly 17-year tenure at Florida A&M University, he more than doubled enrollment while raising academic standards at the same time. He has served as chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges; member of the Board of Trustees for the University of Pittsburgh; and member of President Bill Clinton’s White House Advisory Committee on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Frederick also has been invited by several companies to serve on their Board of Directors, including Wal-Mart stores, Inc., Brinker International, Bank of America, Florida, and the National Merit Corporation.
