N-PACE - Fall 2009 (PDF - 2 MB)

N-PACE magazine, in existence since March 2003, is the premiere publication of the Community and Environmental Services Department (CES). The acronym N-PACE is comprised of the first letters of each of the five divisions of CES: Neighborhood Services, Parks & Recreation, Animal Services, Code Enforcement, and Environmental Protection. The purpose of N-PACE is to promote CES' resources, creating awareness of the many services and programs available to Orange County residents and neighborhoods.  The Orange County Neighborhood Services Division, in partnership with its four sister divisions,  produces and distributes N-PACE twice annually, in the spring and in the fall.

N-PACE is mailed to neighborhood and non-profit organizations listed in the Orange County Neighborhood Organization Directory. The magazine is also distributed at neighborhood organization meetings and county events attended by CES staff.  Additionally, N-PACE is distributed at Community Centers.  For a list of the county's Community Centers, visit: Orange County Health & Family Services Community Action.

An on-going popular column is Keeping N-PACE Neighborhood Spotlight, which features a different neighborhood and its accomplishments.  If you would like us to consider spotlighting your neighborhood in an upcoming issue of N-PACE, submit a short article outlining your neighborhood organization's accomplishments along with photos showing your volunteers at work and a photo of your neighborhood association officers.  Use the following link to submit your article and digital photos: N-PACE Neighborhood Spotlight.

Ask-a-Mentor

Another on-going popular column is Ask-a-Mentor, which features questions and answers related to neighborhoods and/or neighborhood organizations.  Residents are welcome to submit questions to our office.  We use our Neighborhood Organization Mentor Network to find answers.  Some of these questions and answers are then used for this column.  To submit a question pertaining to a neighborhood organization issue or concern (i.e., increasing resident involvement, newsletter production, website development, HOA management, etc.), e-mail us at Ask a Mentor. Your answered question may be featured in a future issue of N-PACE.
