Environmental Protection Commission (EPC)

The Environmental Protection Commission (EPC) is comprised of a seven member advisory board, commissioned by Orange County's Board of County Commissioners through Chapter 15 of the Orange County Code and the Special Acts of Florida (Chapter 67-1830). Since 1984, the EPC has been guiding Orange County's Environmental Protection Division (EPD) by reviewing, enforcing, and/or interpreting of EPD policies and appeals that provide for the continuing protection of the environment. While the EPC continues to hear many appeals that deal with both permit determinations as well as enforcement cases, it has also helped to give guidance on several environmental ordinances.
