NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY Nearly $150,000 is available for a limited time for housing repair projects and programs in unincorporated Orange County. This funding is available to nonprofits and faith based organizations. Due to rising foreclosure rates and the current economic conditions our County is facing, Orange County neighborhoods are threatened by physical decline. This open call for proposals, is an opportunity for nonprofit and faith based organizations to provide minor housing repairs to owner occupied homes in the unincorporated areas of Orange County. NOTE: No request will be awarded for more than $20,000.
NONPROFIT HOUSING REPAIR GRANT I – MATERIALS ONLY! The Nonprofit Housing Repair Grant I is designed to encourage grassroots organizations to assist homeowners that are in need of minor exterior repairs. The nonprofit is to provide volunteer labor to perform the repairs and Neighborhood Services will purchase all the required materials for an amount not to exceed $1,000 per grant. Nonprofits will not receive cash funding. It is expected that these grants will benefit one to three homes per organization.

NONPROFIT HOUSING REPAIR GRANT II – FUNDING AVAILABLE! The Nonprofit Housing Repair Grant II will provide direct cash funding to nonprofit organizations that demonstrate organizational readiness to make minor repairs on a number homes in a concentrated area. These nonprofits may contract or use volunteer labor to conduct the housing repair. However, preference will be given to those nonprofits that incorporate volunteer labor. The award for Grant II will range between $5,000 to $20,000. It is estimated that these grants will benefit 5 – 30 homes per organization.
Program Requirements: Proposed projects can only benefit owner occupied single family homes Project must be in a concentrated area (no longer than 1 square mile) Greater consideration will be given to project proposals that are in areas with high foreclosure rates.
Eligible Applicants: Nonprofits and Faith Based organizations that have been a 501(c)(3) for a minimum of two years
Application Availability: Submit project or program proposal that complies with Program Requirements and Required Documentation (See Below)
