Neighborhood Organization Directory
Is Your Orange County Neighborhood Organized...How Can You Contact Someone Representing a Specific Neighborhood Organization?
horizontalbar

First, let us explain what is the Orange County Neighborhood Organization Directory (NOD) and how it can be of assistance to neighborhood organizations.  The NOD is a registry of volunteer neighborhood organizations, mandatory property associations, and social/community entities serving residents within Orange County.  This Directory has been in existence since 1995.

The NOD is not an inclusive list of every neighborhood/community organization existing within Orange County; the Directory consists of only those organizations that have voluntarily registered with the Neighborhood Services Division and have chosen to be a part of this annual publication.

If you are trying to reach a neighborhood/community organization that has registered with our office, the contact information for organization representative/s (when submitted by the organization) is provided in the published Neighborhood Organization Directory.  The NOD can be viewed online (Go to "Quick Links" above and click on the NOD Publication hyperlink, which takes you to the 2007 NOD below). You may also contact the Neighborhood Services Division for further assistance.

What Is The Purpose Of The Neighborhood Organization Directory?

For the Neighborhood Services Division, the goal of the Neighborhood Organization Directory is to provide the general public with access to an extensive network of associations and community groups.  At the same time, our office furnishes Orange County Government with a tool to communicate with these community service entities.

Internally, the NOD database is used by many Orange County Departments and Divisions to distribute information about each agencies' programs and services.  The Neighborhood Services Division uses the NOD as a formal mailing list as well; mailings include notices of special events, such as the monthly Community Connections Workshop Series, the annual Orange County Community Conference, informational guides, ReNEW Neighborhood Enhancement Grant information, the N-PACE Magazine, and much more to assist neighborhoods and support Orange County neighborhood/community organizations.

The Neighborhood Services Division annually publishes a hard-copy version of the NOD and provides access to this published document through the Orange County Website.  This printed publication is distributed at the annual Orange County Community Conference, usually held in June or July.  Click on the following link to download and view the most current published directory:

How To Register An Organization With Neighborhood Services
horizontalbar

Inclusion in the Neighborhood Services database is solely on a voluntary basis; organizations must submit a Neighborhood Organization Directory registration form to the Neighborhood Services Division to be added to the database.  We rely upon the registered organizations to maintain their contact information up to date as changes occur.

Neighborhood Services does not include every registered organization in the Neighborhood Organization Directory publication; only those organizations choosing to be published are in print.  The Neighborhood Organization Directory registration form provides the organization with the option to be included in the Neighborhood Services database, which adds their organization to the Orange County information distribution list, without being listed in the publication.

To get your neighborhood/community organization registered with the Neighborhood Services database, please ask one of your neighborhood organization officers or board member to use the following link to complete the online registration form:
