The Orange County Corrections Department conducts many programs that are designed to hold inmates accountable, reduce crime caused by inmates who are returning to the community, and provide reparations to victims and community.
  • Programs Section: (407) 836-8614 Email - The Programs Section develops, manages and, in some cases, provides programs to inmates. This section also oversees the training of volunteers providing services in the jails.

Special Operations

Within the Orange County Corrections Department there are special operations units designed to serve unique security and pubic safety needs. 
  • Road Crew Operations: (407) 836-3345 EmailInmates provide labor in the form of work crews who clean and maintain county roadways under the direction of armed correctional officers. The work consists of litter removal, ditch cleaning, laying of sod, lawn maintenance, and other labor intensive duties.

  • Inmate Records Management Section: (407) 254-7601 Email - The Inmate Records Management Section manages inmates' legal files which contain all of the paperwork generated by the courts.

  • Special Response Team (SRT): Similar to a law enforcement SWAT team, the Orange County Corrections Special Response Team (SRT) is a specially selected group of officers who are trained to handle various special tactical and security situations that may arise inside the jail and on its perimeter.

  • Honor Guard: (407) 448-9735 Email - This is a group that provides a formal color guard for various department, law enforcement, and community events.

  • Mail Room: (407) 836-3599 or (407) 836-0350  Email - The Mail Services Section provides, sorts and delivers mail to both inmates and employees. The mailroom processes more than 127 tons of mail annually for the department's more than 1,600 employees and 3,800 inmates. Each piece of inmate mail must be opened and checked for contraband items.   • Technical Support Services: (407) 836-0302 Email - The Technical Support Services Section provides computer support to all the operations of the Corrections Department. In this role the unit provides consolidation and coordination for the support of approximately 700 personal computers, manages the user-oriented activities of two, large databases maintaining offender data, and evaluates, develops and manages the implementation of new software systems as needed. 

  • Classifications Services Section: (407) 254-7584 Email - The Classifications Services Section sets custody levels for all inmates coming into the system, determines where they can be safely housed, follows their progress in programs, awards and removes good and gain time, and computes sentence and release dates.

  • Canine Unit: This unit consists of an officer and a drug-detecting dog used in jail shakedowns, security, and provides assistance to law enforcement operations when requested.

  • Security Threat Group Intelligence Unit: Tracks and investigates gangs and other threats to the security of the jail system. It cooperates closely with law enforcement agencies and provides community education on gang activities. Parents and teachers can download or view "A Guide to Gang Recognition" (PDF - 1.53 MB).

  • Chaplain Ministries: The independent organizations provide religious programs inside the Orange County Jail System.

Through these three ministries, the department makes every effort to meet the spiritual and religious needs of all inmates regardless of their faith or choice of religion.
