Increase the use of automated systems for evaluation of service. Utilize call loading, the radio system manager, and the call reporting systems to evaluate system performance and develop improvements where appropriate. Create a top-level committee to review service, and to plan for continued availability of adequate infrastructure capability with the continuing growth of the county.
Ensure that the public is well served by this division. Increase the awareness in the community of 9-1-1 services. Implement positive recognition programs to motivate public safety personnel to increase service to the public. Increase the use and coverage of the HEROES program by regular recognition at BCC meetings. Explore the use of the non-emergency access number for public safety responders, 3-1-1.
Forge partnerships with users to obtain maximum efficiency. Routinely provide information to governmental agencies that report their service level. Using the evaluation information generated, assist other agencies to develop strategies to maximize the effective use of infrastructure services. Provide leadership to improve the problem of ComCtr recruitment by working with Valencia Community College to include pre-hiring procedures along with the basic training program already implemented. Increase the number of and type classes that are offered and paid for by 9-1-1 fees. Work with local agencies to develop disaster plans and review relationships with Orange County Office of Emergency Management.
Develop a Quality Control Program for Orange County 9-1-1 Centers. Work with ComCtr managers to review and expand call answering and staffing requirements. Facilitate meetings of 9-1-1 Budget Review Committee, Planning Committee and PSAP Managers Committee to implement quality control and to be pro-active in preventing incidents. Assure that all 9-1-1 centers are in compliance with laws, ordinances and agreements. Support standardization though accreditation of all Orange County ComCtrs. |
