Senior Employment Program/AARP - provides work experience and training to people age 55 and over with low or limited income. If eligible, participants are provided with skills training, temporary income, and job placement services to assist them with obtaining permanent employment.
Congregate Meals Program - provides nutritious meals for senior's age 60 and older at the Community Centers through a partnership with SENIORS FIRST, Inc.
EHEAP - energy assistance for seniors 60 years old and older, applications are available at the Community Centers. Guarantee of EHEAP funds are prepared by Senior Resource Alliance, EHEAP Program Coordinator.
Meals on Wheels - provides meals to seniors who are homebound and cannot come to the congregate meal sites. Volunteers pick up daily meals at the different Community Centers and deliver them to seniors in the community.
Senior Academy - offered at the Community Centers to link seniors with agencies providing information about issues that are important to seniors. Topics of discussion might include: prescription medication concerns, Alzheimer's disease, fraud prevention, etc.
Senior Activities - includes wellness classes, arts & crafts, games and nutritional counseling. This allows participating seniors to maintain or improve their ability to independently perform daily living activities. It also provides seniors with the opportunity to participate in social recreational activities.
Senior Clubs - Community Centers are available for organized groups to hold regular meetings and schedule activities. Contact the Community Centers for more details. |
