The CRC accepts crisis mental health and substance abuse consumers in need of acute care services in our community. The CRC has become a central point of access for law enforcement, allowing them to divert individuals who might otherwise be taken to jail or an emergency department. Having one central point of access for crisis assessment now allows our community to make decisions for needed services based on accurate data. The providers of services for the CRC include Lakeside Alternatives and The Center for Drug-Free Living, with the administration and operational oversight provided by Human Services Associates. The CRC is located at Lakeside Alternatives' Princeton Plaza, also known as the old Princeton Hospital, at 1800 Mercy Drive in Orlando.
Individuals experiencing a crisis due to mental health and/or substance use disorders and who come in contact with law enforcement, are brought to the CRC. While law enforcement officers praise the CRC for its ease of use, the facility has also reduced law enforcement costs by having officers in and out of the facility within 10 minutes on average, furthering public safety. |
