The New Construction Section is responsible for the inspections of all new commercial buildings in Orange County as well as all new apartment buildings and town homes.  In 2005 with such explosive growth in the area, the Section conducted over 8,534 inspections.  The Section conducts the following types of inspections:

• Fire Alarm Systems
• Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems
• Pre-Engineered and Engineered Fire Suppression Systems
• Complete New Building Inspections

The Section also activates controlled burn permits for new construction sites to ensure that neighboring properties are protected from smoke and fire during land clearing operations while complying with all environmental regulations.
