Fire Prevention Training
In recognition of National Fire Prevention Week, the Life Safety Education Bureau will be offering the following programs for grades Kindergarten through Twelve. If you have any questions or would like to begin scheduling your FPW Activities, please call the Life Safety Education Bureau at 407-836-9081 or 407-836-9035.

  1. Kindergarten through 2nd Grade (Visit to Fire Stations or Fire Safety Presentation)
This program provides opportunity for teachers to schedule their children to visit with Firefighters from the closest Orange County Fire Station, tour the facility, and learn about the trucks and equipment. Fire Station Tours available.

Fire Safety Presentations are an interactive fire safety lesson presented by Orange County Firefighters. This 30-minute program is offered only on Monday's, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

In an effort to minimize the number of visits to each school, we are asking the CRT to coordinate scheduling the assemblies. Please arrange for accommodating a minimum of 100 and no more than 250 students per assembly.

  2. 3rd Grade through 6th Grade (Juvenile Firesetter Intervention/Fire Safety Presentation)
Assembly style fire safety presentation with focus on the dangers of juvenile firesetting. The program is designed to educate children on the dangers of playing with fire and the impact it can have their lives. Program material is age appropriate and will be offered Tuesdays, Wednesday's, and Friday's, for groups of no less than 100 children.
  3. 7th Grade through 12th Grade
Juvenile Firesetter Intervention for older children. Hard hitting presentation on the dangers of fire play and fire setting. Students will also receive information on taking responsibility for keeping a fire safe home environment. Instruction on changing smoke detector batteries and developing fire evacuation plans for their homes are topics to be discussed.
These programs are available in Spanish to students enrolled in the ESOL Program.
