The Orange County Fire Rescue Department is pleased to announce that we are starting a new "Citizen CPR program". Students may sign up for Adult CPR, Pediatric CPR or both.
The class offered will be the American Heart Association's Friends and Family course. This course is designed for people who wish to know what to do in the event of an emergency in their homes or neighborhoods. Each participant in the class will receive a free "Friends and Family" booklet (in either English or Spanish) which includes quick-reference information that can be kept by the phone in the event of an emergency..
These classes are not designed to meet requirements for employment. The course has no written test and there is no course completion card.
Participants under the age of 18 will need to submit a registration form along with parent or guardian signature by fax or mail. Participants under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by their parents throughout the entire program.
For Information on future Citizen CPR classes, please call the Life Safety Education Bureau at (407) 836-9886 Ext. 3.
One registration form will be required per participant. Also, registration forms are available at all Orange County Fire Rescue Department fire stations, during normal business hours. Once your registration form has been received a confirmation letter will be sent with time and location information. Registration is on a first come first serve basis and is open to all citizens ages 8 and up.
The Citizen CPR program will be offered to citizens living within the unincorporated areas of Orange County. Orange County Fire Rescue realizes the importance of CPR, because of this we encourage citizens living outside of the unincorporated Orange County areas to contact your local fire department, the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association for programs in your area. |
