Juvenile Fire Setters
Overview
horizontalbar
Established in 1998, the Juvenile Fire-setters Intervention Network was designed to meet the growing need for standardized and effective juvenile fire-setter intervention and prevention. Working with the Juvenile Division, Ninth Judicial Circuit, and local fire service and law enforcement officials throughout Orange and Osceola Counties, the program was established to offer a non-judicial alternative to youth who have set or are at risk of setting fires by providing comprehensive, family focused prevention and intervention services.

The mission of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Juvenile Fire-setters Intervention Network is to identify and involve youthful arson offenders and at risk children and their families in fire safety, prevention, education, and intervention services. The Network promotes cooperation, collaboration, and the sharing of appropriate information in order to reduce the number of juveniles who commit the crime of arson or who are involved in juvenile fire-setting activities, and seeks to enhance public safety through education and community awareness.
