The Design Section provides and oversees design services for capital improvements of major roadways, community development projects, street paving, sidewalk construction, intersection improvements, bridges, major drainage structures, and other departmental design support. It also provides support to the Parks & Recreation Division for the design of trail projects, and to the Environmental Protection Division for the design of Public Works/EPD Lake Improvement Projects. This section also oversees the county's arterial Roadway Lighting Program, which has been developed to light approximately 380 miles of Orange County's arterial roadways.
