Lake Index and Lake Monitoring

The Orange County Stormwater Management Division has prepared a report compiling important information for lakes within unincorporated Orange County. This report is known as the Lake Index (PDF - 160 KB). Among the information listed for each lake are: official lake name, drainage basin, base flood elevation (storm having a 1% chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year), normal high water elevation (NHWE), and control structures. If you live in a municipality, you must contact the municipality directly for lake information within its jurisdiction.

Water levels for several lakes are monitored on a monthly basis by the County's Survey Section. Currently, there are over 150 lakes monitored. Click Here (PDF - 20 KB) for a list of lakes being monitored. To obtain recent lake level data, please contact the Orange County Survey Section at 407-836-7940. Historical stage level data for lakes can be obtained from the Water Atlas (External Link).
