The Innovation Way southern corridor extends south of the Beachline and westerly to SR 417. The Innovation Way study envisions this area to include a robust mixture of land uses supporting high tech businesses such as aviation/aerospace, biotechnology/life sciences, energy/alternative fuels, photonics, electronic hardware/software development and advanced manufacturing. This southerly corridor will include a number of activity centers surrounding a centralized village. The roadway network serving this development scenario will include two primary transportation corridors, Innovation Way South and Moss Park Road extension, providing mass mobility around the central village with a smaller road network interconnecting the centers.
The production of roadways in this portion of Innovation Way is very similar to production of roads north of the Beachline; economic market conditions are the driving force behind property owners and developers moving their projects through the land development process. The three major Developments of Regional Impact (DRI) influencing the road network are the International Corporate Park DRI, Innovation Place DRI and the Starwood DRI. ICP and Innovation Place have received DRI approvals on all state and local levels and Orange County has public/private roadway agreements with each entity to provide the primary roads and transit corridors needed.
The Innovation Way South project map illustrates the general alignments of the primary road network, the DRI locations and interchange locations.
