As determined through the feasibility study and the design process, the need for improvements within the Alafaya Trail study area can be attributed to the following: 

1. Deficiencies in existing and future traffic operations. 
2. The ability to meet the demand of anticipated future development in the area. 
3. Providing consistency with the goals, objectives, and policies of the Orange County Comprehensive Policy Plan.
