Preferred Alternative

Based on the public input received at the Neighborhood Meetings, the Public Workshops and the engineering, environmental and social evaluations, a preferred roadway alignment alternative has been selected. The preferred alignment begins at Ocoee-Apopka Road, just north of the existing West Road intersection, and runs eastward along the north side of existing West Road to the proposed interchange with the Western Beltway. From the Western Beltway interchange, the alignment swings to the south and intersects with the existing Clarcona-Ocoee Road alignment near Carpet Street. The alignment continues along the existing alignment through Adair Street where it curves to the north and follows the existing Clarcona-Ocoee Road alignment from Ingram Road to Hiawassee Road.

This preferred alternative was presented to the Local Planning Agency (LPA) at a workshop on September 10th, 1998 and then formally at an LPA Public Hearing in October. Following LPA approval, the final roadway improvement alternative was recommended to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) at a BCC Public Hearing.
