Environmental Issues
There are several areas located along the project corridor that will be considered as jurisdictional wetlands by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) and the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). Field surveys and on site meetings are underway with these agencies to establish wetland limits. Impacts to any of these wetlands will require permitting of both the ACOE and SFWMD and will require mitigation of wetland impacts.

Proposed improvements to Holden Avenue will include construction of a storm water management system including storm sewers and water retention areas. These systems will be designed to meet the permitting requirements of SFWMD and Orange County. These requirements included treatment and retention of flow from the project. Storm water management system design is underway and preliminary discussions are being scheduled with SFWMD.
