The Lake Underhill Road and University Boulevard Transportation Systems Management (TSM) Study is a project that resulted from the list of needs identified by Orange County residents in the East Orange County Transportation Needs Study, which was completed in 1997. TSM strategies involve short-term, low cost improvements which are used to better manage the safety, efficiency and traffic flow of transportation facilities within existing County rights-of-way.
Examples of TSM strategies may include:
- Adding or lengthening turn lanes at intersections.
- Optimizing and coordinating traffic signals.
- Median or access management modifications.
TSM improvements will be supplemented by additional transportation improvement projects in the area that are included in the County's Five-Year Capital Improvement Program and the Long-Range Transportation Plan.
