Orange County FL:   Orange County Firefighters rescued a seriously injured worker from a construction site at University of Central Florida this morning.  Shortly before 11 am, a man fell from a 10 foot ladder and received traumatic injuries.  Due to the location of the patient, a special aerial truck was required to lower the patient to safety.  His injuries required firefighters to perform an elevated rescue and rush him to an awaiting helicopter.

The incident occurred at the construction site of the Physical Sciences building at UCF.  While paramedics tended to the patient’s injuries, a specialized crew from Orange County Fire Rescue Truck 83 prepared to lower the patient to the ground.  Using an aerial ladder truck allowed the patient to receive constant care and remain in a horizontal, stable position.  The patient was flown to the level 1 trauma center at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC).
