Tropical Storm Fay Update - Advisory #1

The Orange County Emergency Operations Center is currently at Level 3 (monitoring) activation. That status will upgrade to Level 2 (partial activation) at noon on Tuesday, August 19. There are no shelters open at this time.

Emergency Operations Staff will brief the Orange County Board of County Commissioners with the latest information on Tropical Storm Fay at
9:00 a.m. in BCC Chambers, Orange County Administration Center, 201 S. Rosalind Avenue, Orlando.

GOVERNMENT OFFICES

Orange County Government offices will be open for business on Tuesday, August 19th.


Orange County Schools will be closed on Tuesday.

Court proceedings for the 9th Judicial Circuit (Orange and Osceola Counties) have been cancelled for Tuesday. A decision about whether to cancel court proceedings for Wednesday, August 20, will be made on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

CITIZEN INFORMATION

The Orange County Non-Emergency Information Line –
3-1-1 will be staffed from 7:00 a.m. Tuesday through Wednesday, August 20th at 11:00 p.m.

Check the Orange County Government website for official Community Alerts: www.orangecountyfl.net  Storm information will also be broadcast on Orange TV –  Brighthouse channel 199. Comcast Channel 9.


Sandbags (limit of 10 per family) will be available on Tuesday (7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.) at all eight Public Works maintenance facilities. Call 3-1-1 for locations.

Orange County Solid Waste will conduct regular trash pickup on Tuesday.

Effective Tuesday at 4:00 a.m., ACCESS LYNX will only provide life- sustaining medical trips. Service is expected to return to normal on Wednesday. As it stands now, fixed route LYMMO and Road Ranger services will be provided as scheduled. If sustained winds reach 35 m.p.h., or there is flooding, all LYNX services will be pulled off the road for safety reasons. If LYNX customers have questions pertaining to service, contact LYNX customer service at 407-841-5969.

The Evacuee Hotel Hotline will open on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m.
