Stay Informed During the Storm with OCALERT
 

Orange County, Fl., Orange County, Florida is home to more than one million residents.  During severe weather, it is important to be able deliver accurate information quickly.
Orange County’s Office of Emergency Management can deliver information to public officials, first responders, emergency management personnel and citizens via OCAlert during a severe weather event. Citizens can sign up for the service at http://ocalert.net.

OCALERT is a software application used to send emergency alerts, notifications and updates to cell phones, pagers, Blackberry devices, PDA’s and/or e-mail accounts.
During a tropical storm or hurricane, citizens can receive messages, such as:

  • Precautionary Warnings
  • Severe Weather Warnings
  • Amber Alerts
  • High Disruptive Road Closures
  • Emergency Situations
  • Shelter Locations
  • Evacuations

OCAlert.net text messaging is free of charge but private wireless carriers may charge a fee for receiving text messages.
