§ Florida Housing Finance Corporation First Time Homebuyer Program This program provides first time homebuyers with low 30-year fixed interest rates . Eligible applicants could receive down payment and closing costs assistance in an amount up to $25,000 in certain high cost counties. Teachers, firefighters, healthcare workers, police officers and veterans could be eligible for a lower interest rate through the Community Spot Loan. Florida Housing has set aside approximately $7.5 million for the Community Spot Loan.

The Homestead Housing Preservation program enables first-time homebuyers to purchase tax delinquent real properties and Department of Housing and Community Development foreclosures for as little as $250 per unit. In exchange, the homebuyer must complete a homeownership training course, rehabilitate the property, reside in the property for a minimum of five years, and return it to the real property tax rolls. Low and moderate-income participants receive a $10,000 deferred mortgage to assist them with gap financing. Brochure*
§ Community Solutions is a suite of flexible mortgage options for low-and moderate income borrowers. Community Solutions is for borrowers who are full-time teachers, police officers, and firefighters. Community Solutions products can be attractive to eligible borrowers who require greater flexibility with credit scores and/or credit histories; have not yet had time to create a full credit history; need to have a greater portion of their income go toward their housing in order to afford homeownership; and/or have access to an Employer-Assisted Housing (EAH) benefit to cover gifted reserves, a temporary interest rate buy down, and/or additional down payment or closing costs.
