Provides administrative support and assistance to the management staff in the administrative, fiscal and data collection areas of the department. Assignments involve conducting research and compiling data in order to analyze information for use in administrative projects to resolve problems. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the Department Manager, Assistant Manager, or designated supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent and four years of progressively responsible administrative and technical experience, or an equivalent combination of post secondary education and experience, including college courses in business, computer science or public administration. Experience must include one year in the use of a computer terminal while using computer spreadsheets, graphics, and word processing software packages.
Ability to type at a rate of 30 correct words per minute.
Must possess and have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in a clear concise manner with the general public. Must be able to exercise independent judgment and formulate sound decisions independently.
Ability to interpret County and departmental policies, procedures and requirements in response to requests for assistance or inquires from within County government and from the general public.
