Performs sales-related work in support of the marketing program for the Orange County Convention Center. This is responsible professional sales and marketing work with extensive public and professional contact. An employee in a position allocated to this class of work is responsible for assisting the Sales Manager in conducting the day-to-day activities of the Marketing Department to include initial customer contact and account follow-up, contract preparation and scheduling. Work is reviewed under the direct supervision of the Sales Manager.
Representative Duties /Assignments
Performs sales-related functions in support of the marketing plan which includes: the solicitation of clients and conducting follow-up actions to develop booking dates; quoting rates and initiating formal agreements; and handling pre-event correspondence and meetings.
Assists in developing the basic sales plan for specific market segments.
Aggressively pursue and develop new sales leads.
Actively participate in industry related organizations and attend conventions/tradeshows.
Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) Standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in the “hospitality industry” marketing and sales with a preference in a convention center, convention bureau or convention hotel; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
