Responsible for supervising and scheduling technicians, supporting telecommunications and data communication systems. Lead position in designing infrastructure standards and enforcing these standards.
Representative Duties /Assignments
Managerial, administrative and technical work managing, directing, coordinating and controlling activities pertaining to voice and data communications. Directs methods, standards and procedures in support of the goals and objectives of information services. Plans, directs and guides the technical direction of information services.
Responsible for designing and implementing intra/inter-building wiring systems and practices. Monitors and supervises telecommunication equipment inventories and ensures appropriate stocking levels are maintained. Researches and evaluates new and emerging technologies pertinent to cabling infrastructure. Provides the highest level of customer service possible to the external and internal clients of the section.
Gathers, assembles, presents and analyzes statistical/managerial information related to performance management/measurements for the unit. Plans, directs and supervises the work of assigned personnel.
Work is performed with a high level of independent judgement, due to the complexity of the problems encountered and the scope of planning and analysis required, under the general supervision of the Division Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management, Telecommunications or other closely related fields and five years of experience in the telecommunications industry to include one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience.
Experience managing a large telecommunications infrastructure for a company that had a combine both voice and data communications on the same infrastructure.
