Responsible for the direction and management of the department’s information technology needs in a client server environment. Work is performed with considerable independence under the direction of the Division Manager or designee.
Representative Duties /Assignments
Responsible for managing LAN/WAN, geographic information systems, computerized maintenance management systems and customer information systems.
Provides quality customer service through the management and supervision of the department’s Information Technologies Group.
Interacts with all functions within the department and other County departments and agencies.
Serves as the department’s primary liaison with the Division of Information Systems and Services.
Analyzes existing systems and researches new applications, recommending and implementing changes.
Develops short and long range plans for the information systems needs for the department.
Responsible for the coordination and integration of the department’s hardware/software needs.
Responsible for performance optimization and system security.
Performs responsible supervisory and administrative duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or closely related field and six years of experience in network systems administration, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, certification and experience.
