Using Member Services Technical FAQ
COOKIES
Q: Why does
my browser need to accept cookies in order for me to use FastTrack Member Services ?
A: FastTrack
Member Services places a very small "expiring" cookie on your
computer as soon as you log-in. This cookie consists of an
identification code, which is compared to a database on our server,
which stores permitting information about your job site. As soon as
you submit your FastTrack Permits application to us, this cookie is deleted
from your computer. Only if you choose to place a permit on
"hold" (if, for instance, you need to do some research
about your job site in order to complete your application online)
will the cookie be saved on your computer. In this case, the cookie
will automatically expire after seven days.
Q: How
does Orange County use the information collected in the FastTrack Member Services cookie?
A: Orange County utilizes the
data of your Fasttrack Member Services cookie within the context of your FastTrack Member Services session only.
Orange County Government's privacy policy and terms of use are linked at the bottom of this page.
JOBSITE or Building Permit
Q: What

Land Use, you will need to know your property tax identification
number. If you do not have access to that information, you may
supply the jobsite's complete street address (including zip code).
DIGITAL CERTIFICATE
Q: How do
I keep my digital certificate secure?
A:
If you wish to keep your digital certificate secure, do not install
it in any browsers belonging to computers that you do not own.
