If you need to apply for
FastTrack Permits you will be
required to install an Orange County digital certificate. This is
a simple process, automated by your browser. FastTrack Member Services'
registration/log-in processes provide guidance for digital
certificate installation. (Please see FAQ for a discussion of FastTrack
Member Services' usage of digital certificates).
MANAGING YOUR
DIGITAL CERTIFICATE
After installing
your digital certificate you must restart your browser before logging
in as a FastTrack Member Services member.
Do not install
your digital certificate on public computers such as those located
at a public library or an Internet cafe.
If you need to apply for
FastTrack Permits from more than one computer, you will need to install
your digital certificate in each of them. Please read the section on
EXPORTING AND IMPORTING A DIGITAL CERTIFICATE.
EXPORTING AND IMPORTING A
DIGITAL CERTIFICATE
(Instructions
for Internet Explorer version 5.0) - From your browser's tool bar,
select "Tools" then "Internet Options".
Under the
"Content" tab, select "Certificates".
Highlight the
digital certificate you use with FastTrack Permits.
Select the
button marked "Export..."
You may export
your certificate with or without a private key. If you export with
a private key, only a person having your password will be able to
import the certificate into another browser.
Save the certificate
into a floppy disk.
To import into another
computer insert the floppy and follow the same instructions as above but
pressing the button marked "Export...".
VIEWING
RECOMMENDATIONS
Optimum viewing
resolution: 1024 pixels by 768 pixels
Minimum viewing
resolution: 800 pixels by 600 pixels
SYSTEM RECOMMENDATIONS
Use of large
fonts result in poor screen rendition of FastTrack Member Services which might
negatively affect usability.
PRINTERS
Access to a
black and white laser printer or inkjet printer is recommended for
printout of your FastTrack Transactions Summary.
