Adoption event

What is Barktoberfest?

Barktoberfest is an annual rescue appreciation event to celebrate the partnership between Orange County Animal Services and the rescue community. Animal Services works with approximately 70 rescue partners that aid in the recovery and adoption of many homeless animals. This event will have many of these rescued pets available for adoption. Along with adoptable animals there will also be delicious food trucks, pet microchipping, vendors, raffles and more!

Want to let your friends know you're attending? Visit our Barktoberfest Facebook event page.

How was last year’s Barktoberfest?

The event put the “wow” in “bow wow!” Last year’s event drew in approximately 8,000 people and helped raise awareness for the rescue groups and vendors. More than 50 animals were adopted!

When and where is Barktoberfest?

Barktoberfest is taking place this year on Saturday, September 27 from
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The event will be located in the south east grassy area of Lake Eola.

How can my rescue group or business participate in Barktoberfest?

Barktoberfest is our way of saying “thank you” to our registered rescue partners. Are you a rescue group not currently registered with our shelter? For more information about our program, visit our Animal Services Partners page.

Do you have a local pet-related business interested in attending? We welcome you to complete the registration form! We do not have an event fee, but do ask that participating vendors donate $50 to our shelter.

The Registration Form can be found on the left sidebar.
