Adult Mental Health

Our Division has contractual partnerships to fully or partially fund the following services available directly through various non-profit organizations in the community.


This program provides inpatient psychiatric care for adults experiencing a mental health crisis causing one of the following: inability to care for themselves, at risk of hurting themselves or at risk of hurting others. Services can be accessed voluntarily or with the assistance of law enforcement.

This program provides funding for adults in need of medication to assist in managing mental health symptoms or substance abuse symptoms.

Outlook Clinic was created to provide specialized outpatient mental health care at no cost for people who do not have medical insurance who are experiencing symptoms of any mental health disorder.

Indigent Psychiatric Medication Enhancement: This program provides funding to indigent clients for psychotropic medications. Clients may come from the Central Receiving Center System of Care or any other department within Orange County.

Services are provided for adults experiencing substance abuse and requiring medical care to stop using (detox from substances).

Peer Support: A program that offers adults a voluntary, home-like, non- medical space in which they can participate in activities with others that have similar lived experiences related to mental health. Trained peer professionals assist those adults to focus on wellness before they reach a point of crisis in group settings.

Guardian Advocates: Guardian Advocates, trained through a 4-hour certification course, respond to requests for temporary guardianship of involuntarily committed clients at local behavioral health hospitals. They advocate for patient rights and ensure fair treatment under part IV of chapter 744, Florida State Statute when no family members are available.

UCF RESTORES

UCF RESTORES provides clinical treatment services at no cost to first responders, front-line medical personnel, military veterans, active-duty military personnel, and survivors of mass violence and natural disasters. Services are available at our clinic in Orlando and via telehealth. Our team of behavioral health experts use evidence-based treatments that utilize technology to effectively treat trauma and PTSD.

Our outpatient services include a comprehensive Trauma Management Therapy program tailored for individuals recovering from trauma. The two-week Intensive Outpatient Program provides focused, trauma-specific care through daily individualized exposure therapy and group sessions led by licensed master- or doctoral-level mental health clinicians.

In addition, our Single Session Consultation (SSC) Program offers a no-cost, one-time meeting designed to help individuals working in high-stress environments. LBJ Behavioral Services, Inc.

LBJ Behavioral Service, Inc. is a nonprofit organization with a mission to fill gaps in mental health services for individuals and families in the community. The organization aims to remove financial barriers and deliver culturally competent and ethical care to ensure accessibility to quality mental health services.

Operating as a charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, LBJ Behavioral Services, Inc. is dedicated to reducing barriers to accessing mental health services. The organization is focused on counseling and case management activities to achieve its goals.

Counseling services form a significant portion of LBJ Behavioral Services and allow counselors to provide assistance and support to uninsured or underinsured individuals, irrespective of age. Mental health professionals, including licensed counselors and student counselors under supervision, conduct the counseling sessions. The organization offers services at various locations within an existing center, as well as in the community, using telehealth and in person options. Funding for counseling services will come from various sources, including fundraising, grants, and donations.

Case management is another essential service that LBJ Behavioral Service provides. It involves providing comprehensive case management support to uninsured or underinsured individuals, regardless of age. The organization has a case manager with years of experience and a degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field, who will assess individuals' needs, develop personalized care plans, and facilitate access to appropriate services and resources. Case management services will be available at the dedicated center location and within the community.

Community Health Centers, Inc. provides depression screenings and as appropriate, follow-up services which may include, but are not limited to screening, diagnostic services, physical health services, and/or behavioral health/mental health services (counseling case management, psychiatric visits with medication management, etc.).

Community Health Centers, Inc. provides Behavioral Health services at 8 of its 10 Orange County locations.

In 2021, The Center expanded its mission by welcoming Orlando United Resiliency Services (OURS) into its family of programs. While OURS provides dedicated support for Pulse survivors and victim’s families, its presence allows us to offer trauma-informed resources to anyone in our community. Serving people of every age, gender, sexual orientation, race, and nationality, OURS helps our community navigate today’s traumatizing realities with resilience and care.

ANCHOR

This is a housing program for adults experiencing homelessness and mental health/substance abuse concerns needing a stable living environment to recover from their symptoms. Adults can remain in the program for up to one year.

College Place Apartments (CPA)

This program offers housing support for adults with a mental illness who require community assistance and a secure living environment. Participants are eligible to stay in the program for a maximum of two years.

Men’s Residential (MRO)

This is a facility for adult men that have completed detox for substance abuse and need a stable environment before returning to the community. The program offers services for one to two months including individual and group therapy, case management, medication management, employment assistance, and housing.
