Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Even though substance use disorders are widespread, only a small percentage of people receive treatment. The treatment gap is costly for individuals, families, and communities. Commonly reported reasons people do not seek treatment include:

  • I don’t have health care coverage/could not afford,
  • I am worried treatment might cause problems at my job,
  • My neighbors may have a negative opinion of me,
  • I do not know where to go for treatment,
  • I don’t have transportation.

The resources listed below help address many of these concerns.
