Mayor’s Citizens Academy

The Mayor’s Citizens Academy is a dynamic 10-week program that gives you an interactive, first-hand look into your local government. Participants will gain comprehensive insights into Orange County's operations and services, engage with County leadership, and experience guided tours of government facilities.

How Long is the Program?

The Spring 2026 session of the Mayor's Citizens Academy is a 10-week program that will start Thursday, February 5, and end Thursday, April 9, 2026. Sessions will be conducted in Spanish and take place on Thursday evenings, from 5 to 8 p.m., at various Orange County Government facilities.

* You must attend a minimum of 7 sessions to graduate from the program.
** Refreshments will be provided during each session.

What Are the Benefits?

Join us for exclusive behind-the-scenes facility tours of several key locations throughout Orange County. Featured departments will include orange county fire rescue, animal services, corrections, public works, and more. Other program benefits:

Who Should Apply?

The Mayor's Citizens Academy is designed for individuals who are passionate about their community and desire to learn more about their local government. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and residents of Orange County. Please note that class size is limited.
