The official County source linked in the response, applicable law, adopted ordinance, official record, posted notice, permit document, or direct communication from the appropriate County department controls over any AI-generated response. Always confirm critical information against the official source linked in the response or by contacting the appropriate County department. Users are responsible for verifying information before relying on it. Use of the AI search tool and reliance on any AI-generated response is solely at the user’s own risk.
2. Not Official Advice or a County Record
Information provided by the AI search tool is for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal, financial, medical, tax, engineering, planning, permitting, procurement, or other official County advice, and is not an official record or determination of Orange County Government. Use of the tool does not create any right, entitlement, deadline extension, waiver, estoppel, appeal right, permit approval, or other legal obligation of the County. Official decisions, permits, applications, payments, and records must be obtained through the appropriate County department or official channel.
3. Privacy and Data Use
Questions, prompts, and related usage information submitted to the AI search tool may be logged, retained, reviewed, processed, and analyzed by Orange County Government and its authorized technology providers for service improvement, quality assurance, security, auditing, troubleshooting, legal compliance, and operational purposes. Do not submit confidential, exempt, sensitive, or legally protected information, including but not limited to Social Security numbers, driver’s license or state identification numbers, payment card information, financial account numbers, passwords, protected health information, information about minors, law enforcement-sensitive information, or any information you do not want retained or potentially disclosed as a public record.
4. Public Records
Communications with Orange County Government, including questions, prompts, uploaded content, feedback, metadata, and responses associated with this tool, may constitute public records subject to Florida’s Public Records Law, Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, unless an exemption applies. Public records are retained and may be disclosed upon request.
5. Emergencies
This tool is not for emergency use and must not be used to request emergency assistance, report an active crime, report an immediate hazard, or seek urgent medical, fire, police, or public safety assistance. 8. Availability and Modifications
Orange County Government may suspend, modify, limit, or discontinue the AI search tool, or any feature or functionality of the tool, at any time and without prior notice. The County is not responsible for any unavailability, interruption, delay, modification or discontinuance of the tool.
9. Accessibility, Translation and Formatting
AI-generated responses may simplify, reformat, or translate information. Such responses are provided for convenience only and may not fully capture the meaning, limitations, or legal effect of the official source. Users should consult the official source or contact the appropriate County department for assistance, including accessibility or language-access needs.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Orange County Government is not responsible for any loss, damage, claim, liability, cost, delay, missed deadline, or adverse action arising from or related to use of, inability to use, or reliance on the AI search tool or any AI-generated response. Nothing in these Terms of Use and Disclaimer is intended to waive any defense, immunity, limitation of liability, or protection available to Orange County Government, including sovereign immunity and the limitations of liability set forth in section 768.28, Florida Statutes, or other applicable federal or Florida law.
11. Changes to This Notice
Orange County Government may update these Terms of Use and Disclaimer from time to time. Continued use of the AI search tool after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
