Apopka Loop Connector Trail Grand Opening, February 28
  • Join Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings and District 2 Commissioner Christine Moore for the grand opening of the Lake Apopka Connector Trail on Saturday, February 28, at 10 a.m., at Magnolia Park! This is a FREE event, open to the public. Questions? Email parks@ocfl.net or call Parks Marketing at 407-826-6257.

When completed, this phase (a 10- to 14-foot-wide shared-use path) will provide the connection from the West Orange Trail to the Lake Apopka Loop Trail, stretching through Apopka and Ocoee, from our Clarcona Horse Park (3535 Damon Road, Apopka) to Magnolia Park (2929 S. Binion Road, Apopka). When Lake County completes one other project later in 2026, the trail loop around Lake Apopka will be complete, connecting the Lake Apopka Loop Trail, the West Orange Trail, the South Lake Trail and the Green Mountain Scenic Overlook in Lake County.

Road construction continues along South Binion Road until further notice; please use caution in this area.

On February 20, 2014, Phase 2 of the Lake Apopka Loop Trail opened, from Magnolia Park to the Lake County line.

Stop by the Lovell's Landing State Historic Marker, located on the trail in Magnolia Park, to learn more about William Lovell's (1828 - 1903) role in Apopka's history.
