Chase Road Bridge

Bridge Replacement and Connectivity Improvements

Description

As part of Orange County’s ongoing initiative to assess transportation infrastructure and plan for long term community needs, the Public Works Department is evaluating potential replacement configurations for the Chase Road Bridge.

Purpose

This project will evaluate alternative bridge configurations and develop a conceptual design that conforms with current engineering standards. Key activities include reviewing structural alternatives, applying established design criteria, and preparing documentation that will facilitate project advancement when future funding becomes available. This proactive, long range planning effort supports system modernization and effective lifecycle management, ensuring future infrastructure needs are addressed in a thoughtful and fiscally responsible manner.

Status

Preliminary design and permitting activities began on January 7, 2026. Subsequent phases, including right of way acquisition and construction, will proceed based on funding availability and County budget approval.

Public Involvement

A public information meeting and several small group meetings will be conducted during the design phase. Newsletters will be distributed to property owners and stakeholders at the following milestones.

  • At the start of the design phase (Completed)
  • At the beginning of the right-of-way acquisition process
  • Prior to the public information meetings
