EnHANDSment Kits Program

Overview

The EnHANDSment Kits Program assists all residents in Orange County by providing a variety of enhancement kits tailored to different community needs.

Communities can choose one, two, or all three kits, depending on their project needs.

All requests are reviewed by staff and must meet basic qualifying criteria. Some items may be limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Types of Kits

Small-Scale Clean Up Kit

Can be requested by the respective community or volunteer association and are solely run by the requester.

  • Request supplies at least one week in advance of neighborhood cleanup.
  • We supply 20 gloves, 20 trash bags, and 20 trash nabbers (on loan).
  • IMPORTANT: Nabbers must be returned within 10 calendar days after the date of your event.
  • Reflector vests and raincoats can be requested on a case-by-case basis.
  • Supplies can be requested year-round based on availability.

Curb Address Painting Kit

Help improve emergency response times and visitor navigation by painting clear, visible house numbers on your curb.

Items You Keep:

  • Black Marker

Items on Loan (must be returned):

  • Number stencils
  • Garden kneeler
  • Spray paint
  • Painter’s tape

Please note:

  • Quantities are tailored to the size of your project.
  • Loaned items must be returned within 10 calendar days of the event date to maintain eligibility for future kit use.

Fence Repair Kit

Support small-scale repairs to a shared community fence, such as a neighborhood’s exterior wall or fencing visible from a public road.

You can select from:

  • Up to 6 individual wood pickets or up to 4 full fence panels

Optional (by request):

  • Fence stain in warm cedar or dark brown

Important Requirements:

  • The fence must be part of the neighborhood’s exterior wall, not an individual’s personal property.
  • Before receiving materials, you must email:
    • Photos of the damaged fence
    • Proof of submitted permit application
  • Once the permit application is received, if the project qualifies, County staff will coordinate with the requester regarding the application payment process.
