About Orange County

Since 1986, Orange County has operated as a “strong mayor” form of charter government—a reflection of the County’s urban character and driving economy. Under this structure, Mayor Teresa Jacobs serves as the CEO and Chair of the Board of County Commissioners (BCC). Members of the BCC are independently-elected from 6 districts, and serve in a legislative capacity.

Mission

Our mission is to serve the citizens of Orange County and our guests with integrity, honesty, fairness and professionalism. We are committed to engaging our citizens in the decision making process in order to earn their trust and improve our quality of life.
