Ken Bosserman Econlockhatchee River Preserve

The Ken Bosserman Econlockhatchee River Preserve is located in northeast Orange County off South Tanner and Lake Pickett Roads and is managed by the Orange County EPD. This property was purchased in the 1990s through Orange County's environmentally sensitive land acquisition program. The parcel is just over 132 acres and the types of habitats found on the property include: Pine Flatwoods, Cypress Domes, Cypress Sloughs and Freshwater Marsh, and has the Econlockhatchee River running through the middle of the property. The property was named in honor of Ken Bosserman who was a longtime advocate for the protection of the Econlockhatchee River. Future recreational opportunities for the site will be passive in nature.

Neighborhood Lakes

The Neighborhood Lakes property is located in northwest Orange County off Mount Plymouth Road and will be managed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Florida Park Service. Neighborhood Lakes was a joint acquisition with Orange County, Lake County, State of Florida, St. Johns River Water Management District, and the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority. The parcel is approximately 1550 acres in size and the types of habitats found on the parcel include Freshwater Marsh, improved pasture, Xeric Hammock, and Pine Flatwoods. The property has high recharge value for the Floridian Aquifer and is located in the Wekiva Springshed Protection Area and is adjacent to Rock Springs Run State Reserve. Future recreational opportunities for the site will be passive in nature.

Nunnally and Evans Property

The Nunnally and Evans property is located in east Orange County off of Old Cheney Highway and is managed by the Orange County Environmental Protection Division. This property was purchased in 2005 through the Orange County's Green PLACE Program. The parcel is 18.5 acres in size and is located in the floodplain of the Econlockhatchee River, an Outstanding Florida Water.

Sunflower and Vienna Properties

The Sunflower and Vienna properties are located in east Orange County off Sunflower Trail and Vienna Drive. These properties are managed by the Orange County Environmental Protection Division. These properties were acquired in the 1990's. Combined these parcels cover over 59 acres and are located in the flood plain of Econlockhatchee River, an Outstanding Florida Waters.

Pine Plantation

The Pine Plantation property is located in northwest Orange County off of West Kelly Park Road and will be managed by the Orange County Environmental Protection Division. The parcel is approximately 40 acres in size and the type of habitat found on the parcel is Pine Plantation. The property has high recharge value for the Floridian Aquifer and is located in the Wekiva Spring shed Protection Area. The property is also adjacent to a state owned portion of Pine Plantation which is in the same vicinity of the Neighborhood Lakes, Sandhill Preserve and Lake Lucie Conservation Area properties. Future recreational opportunities for the site will be passive in nature.

TM / Econ Mitigation
Bank Phase IV

The TM / Econ Mitigation Bank Phase IV property is located in southeast Orange County off Lake Mary Jane Road and is managed and operated by Orange County EPD. This property was purchased in 2003 through Orange County's Green PLACE program. The parcel is 1336 acres and the types of habitats found on the property include: Oak Hammock, Pine Flatwoods, Cypress Domes, Cypress Sloughs, and Freshwater Marsh. The property was permitted as a mitigation bank in 2003 and is used to offset impacts associated with County projects.

Ranger Parcel

The Ranger Parcel is located in east Orange County in the Wedgefield subdivision of Edgerton Avenue. It is managed by the Orange County Environmental Protection Division. This property was acquired through the Green PLACE program. The parcel is 80 acres. The acquisition of this parcel adds to the Ecological Corridor created by the Hal Scott Preserve. Future recreational opportunities will be passive in nature.
