Tiny Road

Roadway Conceptual Analysis

Description

Orange County Government is conducting a Roadway Conceptual Analysis (RCA) Study for a segment of Tiny Road. The segment to be studied is from Bridgewater Middle School southern property line to Tilden Road, a length of approximately two miles.

Purpose

The purpose of the study is to assess and recommend roadway improvements anticipated to improve traffic flow and safety in the area. The study considers the social and environmental impacts of adding travel lanes and other features such as, but not limited to, drainage, a multi-use path and sidewalk, raised medians, lighting and intersection improvements.

Status

The study is anticipated to complete within Summer 2024.

Public Involvement

The County will hold two community meetings, a local planning agency (LPA) hearing, and a Board of County Commissioners (BCC) hearing for the study. Additionally, the County may hold informational meetings for small groups if requested. The meetings and hearings will be conducted via the World Wide Web or, as appropriate, in person, in-line with County policy and the informational, health and safety needs of the community.

The first community meeting is scheduled for November 2023. At this meeting, the County will present and receive comments on a range of mobility and improvement options that could be applied to the corridor. The second community meeting is tentatively scheduled for January 2024. The purpose of the second meeting is to present the study recommendation of the preferred improvement alternative to the public for review and comment prior to the presentation to the local planning agency and Board of County Commissioners.

The local planning agency and the BCC hearings are anticipated to be conducted shortly after the second community meeting. At these hearings, the County staff will present the study’s final recommendations for consideration and approval by the County.

Each community meeting will be in-person and advertised at least two (2) weeks before each date through the study newsletters (mailings and emails), newspaper advertisements (Orlando Sentinel), study website and County press releases.

Upcoming
Public Meeting

Second Public Meeting tentatively scheduled for Spring 2024, followed by LPA and BCC meetings.
