Schedule A
School Program

We have a variety of age appropriate programs for school aged children. We can bring a fire engine to your school and give a safety presentation or you can bring your class to an area fire station. Some topics we cover based on the age of the students:

  • Exit drills in the home.
  • Crawl low under smoke.
  • Demonstrate firefighter's gear.
  • Calling 9-1-1.
  • Don't play with matches.
  • Juvenile Fire-setting.
  • Careers in the Fire Service.

To schedule your group please call the Life Safety Education Bureau at 407-836-9081 or complete the online Community Events Request Form. We ask for at least 2 weeks advance notice.

Attend Children's
Safety Village

Children practice safety while having fun at the Orange County Children’s Safety Village. A special fire safety house helps children of all ages learn fire dangers and how to avoid injury. Please visit the official Central Florida Children’s Safety Village site for more information.

Learn Proper Car
Seat Use

Learning the right way to use a car seat can help save your child's life in the case of a car accident. Monthly checkpoints help parents learn the correct way to install a lifesaving child car seat and check for defects and recalls.

Schedule A Safety Presentation

Learn about pool, bicycle and fire safety and all about 911. Please have at least 10 people in your group, schedule two to three weeks in advance and have an alternate date ready. Presentations are only available in the unincorporated areas of the county.

To schedule a presentation just complete this online Community Events Request Form.

Attend Citizen's Fire Academy

Things you as a citizen can experience at the Orange County Fire Academy:

  • Go inside a burning building.
  • Ride a ladder truck.
  • Cut up a car.
The Academy is for adults. This is an intense, hands on nine week look at the inner workings of the Fire Department that you won’t soon forget; apply today.

Learn Proper
Syringe Disposal

There is a right and a wrong way to get rid of your syringes. Don’t throw them in the trash. Take them to your nearest County Fire Station instead. Your fire station has a special container for used needles which can be returned between 8 am to 8 pm seven days a week. This service is entirely free. Used needles and syringes can transmit hepatitis, HIV, AIDS and other fatal disease. So be safe.

Aid Burn Victims

Wondering how you can help burn victims? Young burn victims find the love, trust and acceptance they badly need at a special camp sponsored by the Children’s Burn Foundation of Florida. Contact the Children's Burn Foundation.
