Age-Friendly Orange County Initiative

Mayor Demings' Seal

Like most communities across the U.S., Orange County has a growing older population with more than 228,000 diverse residents age 60 and older. Older adults are engaging in community activities, contributing to our economy and volunteering at local nonprofits. Building livable spaces that are adaptable for residents, during all stages in life, is a main objective to create a community that works for everyone. To achieve this, Orange County Government has joined the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Community and has launched its own “Age-Friendly Orange County Initiative.”

The Age-Friendly Orange County Initiative will analyze how effectively the County is meeting the eight domains of livability identified by AARP:

Take the Survey

  1. Civic participation and employment
  2. Respect and social inclusion
  3. Communication and information
  4. Outdoor spaces and buildings
